Emmanuel Nwamadi: The Voice of The University of Westminster
The Blind Auditions have come to a close, and this weekend will see contestants of The Voice UK take each other on in the famed battle rounds. Amongst all the talent that the auditions have brought, is The University of Westminster’s very own Emmanuel Nwamadi, who wowed the judges and audience alike with his incredibly soulful performance of Sade’s ‘Sweetest Taboo’. Although he was bagged by an excited Ricky Wilson, he was clearly an auditionee who stood out for all the judges, with Rita Ora absolutely gushing about him, and Sir Tom Jones looking visibly frustrated when he realised the performance had ended before he got the chance to turn around!
Being a Music Performance student, Emmanuel is always playing at one event or the other at University, and has also taken part in The Westminster Sessions. He performed his song ‘Six’ exclusively for the University radio station, Smoke Radio, and recorded a collaboration with Abbie Audio:
This particular track sparked Smoke TV’s “Emmanuel Challenge” at the MAD campus, basically a bunch of students giving the high note everything they’ve got, which makes for a pretty hilarious watch:
With the battles around the corner, excitement is in the air here at the University’s MAD campus as we get ready to watch Emmanuel face the challenge that will determine his future in the competition. Catch The Voice UK tomorrow at 7:15 pm on BBC One!
