Book News: Toni Morrison due to release 11th novel in April 2015

A new novel by celebrated author Tony Morrison will make its way to bookstores in about six months. Her publisher announced her work God Help the Child will be about ‘the way childhood trauma shapes and misshapes the life of the adult’.

The American author has won almost every prestigious literature trophy. First in 1988 she was awarded the Pulitzer Prize and the American Book Award for Beloved, and then in 1993, the Nobel Prize. At the age of 83, Morrison has had a long career of writing masterpieces, distinguished for fine style and courageous topics, detailed characters and remembering dialogues.

Earlier this year Morrison appeared on The Colbert Report, where she sagely triumphed in the interview talking about her literary work and social issues as racism in America, and Obamacare. When questioned by Stephen Colbert whether the author felt burdened after being awarded the Nobel Prize, she answered ‘I know that my books are worthy, which is separate from me.’ To watch the interview, visit Comedy Central.
