Pharrell & Cara Delevingne duet again in preview of Chanel’s new feature film
Earlier this week, Chanel released a 40-second preview of a feature film directed by Karl Lagerfeld set to be unveiled on the 2nd December during the Metiers d’Art show in Salzburg, Austria.
The film, titled Reincarnation, pays homage to the iconic Chanel jacket, with Delevingne transformed into Cinderella and Pharrell as her prince charming. The music heard in the film preview is an original song composed and performed by Pharrell and his model partner, called CC The World.
The news comes just a moth after WNOL Life & Style reported on an upcoming single the duo recorded together. CC The World suggests that Reincarnation is the project the pair were working on.
For the film, Lagerfeld imagined the great Coco Chanel on holiday in Austria, where she was first inspired by a lift attendant’s jacket. Pharrell is reincarnated as Franz Joseph I, the Emperor of Austria, while Delevingne plays his wife, Empress Elisabeth of Austria.
Lagerfeld spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about his inspiration behind the fairy-tale film, “It was a time to show the origins of the Chanel jacket, inspired by the one worn by the lift attendant in a hotel near Salzburg in the 1950’s. Reincarnation is the story of a lift attendant’s jacket being reincarnated as a timeless pieces of women’s wear.”
