The dark-haired beauty, Miss Honduras was supposed to be in London this week to take part in the Miss World Pageant. But Miss Honduras, 19-year-old Maria Jose Alvarado, and her sister Sofia, 23, were found dead on a remote river bank near Santa Barbara early Wednesday morning.

Sofia’s boyfriend, Plutarco Ruiz has confessed to have shot both the women on Thursday in a jealous fit after he saw his girlfriend dancing with another man.

Ruiz and the girls had gone to La Aguagua spa last week to celebrate his birthday.

He shot Sofia after having an argument with her as he spotted her dancing with a stranger. He then went on to shoot Maria Jose after she tried to run away, hitting her at least twice in the back before that.

Miss Honduras’s body, wrapped in brown plastic, was loaded into the back of a truck just a few hours before she was to board a flight to London for the pageant. A winner will be crowned on December 14.

“When Maria Jose won the pageant, she didn’t think it was that important. I just wanted her to be happy,” her mother said. She was known to have been down to earth by her friends and family, would still walk around the town in jeans, hair up and no make up. She never flashed around her celebrity status.
