The Hunger Games are back with Mockingjay: Part1

The wait is almost over for arguably one the most eagerly anticipated movies of 2014; The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is finally set to hit the cinema screens tomorrow.

Catching Fire ended with a real cliffhanger, which left fans gasping for more.

The previous movie saw Katniss escape the perils of the Third Quarter Quell but left fellow tribute Peeta in the clutches of the Capitol.

The new movie sees the story build to an exciting climax. With the games now over and destroyed, the revolution begins. Katniss (played by Jennifer Lawrence) has become a heroine and a symbol of hope and courage for the troubled people of Panem. She must fight once again to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and her nation from the civil unrest that has caused District 12 to crumble.

In The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 we see new cast members along the way including Julianne Moore and Natalie Dormer.

For super-fans that have read the Suzanne Collins book series, the plot is not a mystery. However it is still a must-see on the big screen. The movie is predicted to be one of the top films of 2014

The Hunger Games series rose to popularity in 2012 when Catching Fire topped Fandango’s most anticipated movies list. The movie went on to become the highest selling film in Fandango history, boasting higher numbers than previous record holder, Avatar. The box office smash hit has earned a whopping £488.3 million worldwide to date. Enough to keep us gritting our teeth with excitement for the next part of the four film series.
