Southbank’s Winter Festival returns for another year
The annual festival that plants itself on the Thames’ bank courtesy of the Southbank Centre is here once again to slide you gleefully into the Christmas spirit.
Until the 10th January, you can expect to see one of London’s best known areas lined with traditional Christmas markets, exclusive shows and exhibitions, tasting experiences- namely with the most important of seasonal fillers: cheese, chocolate and wine- and activities for everyone; children, adults, the in-between, lovers and loathers of the holiday, are all welcome.
With talk of a Christmas Tree maze and performances from La Soiree for the duration of the festival, what more would you need to go head first into the festivities?
New Years Eve hasn’t been neglected, either. See in- in double-vision, no doubt- 2015 with the Vintage New Years Eve Party, which spans out across the entire Southbank, and will see the likes of several Vintage clubs, hair and beauty salons, and photo studios all open their doors to the paying public.
Tickets to their renound fireworks display this year are expected to sell real fast, so make sure you get in there quick.
Most things are open daily from 10am till 11pm, so you get a chance to have a taste of everything. If you’re not feeling particularly adventurous, however, feel free to sit yourself in the Scandinavian Lodge from Rekorderlig Cider and watch it all from afar.
