SOLANGE’S ‘RULE BREAKER’ WEDDING

Solange Knowles, younger sister of singer Beyonce, tied the knot the knot with Alan Ferguson this weekend.

The couple who are well-known for being very laid-back and not extravagant demonstrated this at their wedding. Bride, Solange ditched the traditional white wedding dress for a low-cut cream coloured jumpsuit, designed by Stephanie Roland.

Similar to singer Kelly Rowland’s wedding, Solange asked guests to wear white. Another rule breaker that was quite shocking was the fact that Solange allowed her bridesmaids to pick out their own dress. She wanted them to choose a white dress that they felt represented their own personal style. This was a good gesture because it allowed the bridesmaids to feel more comfortable wearing clothes that they picked out themselves.

In Solange’s wedding photo she wore a high neck floor length custom gown, which was designed by Humberto Leon for Kenzo, she also added a matching cape to her unique outfit. Alan and Solange’s wedding also included a ‘vanity-fair style ‘bridal portrait. The photo includes everyone either standing or sitting in a staged manner. Guests included singer Janelle Monae, who is well-known for her trademark tuxedo outfits, however, she ditched the whole tuxedo look for an elegant white dress. Beyonce, alongside husband Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy, were also amongst guests that attended.

One of the rules that Solange broke at her wedding that amazed the world was the fact that she arrived at her wedding ceremony with her husband, on a bike!… A BIKE! This was definitely something we were not expecting! Although we may not fully understand the whole concept behind the white bikes, it was very different, or should we say, romantic?
