Roger Federer’s wife Mirka caused tension by heckling Stan Wawrinka as Roger withdraws from the ATP World Tour final against Novak Djokovic.  

In a weekend of bad news for Federer, calls of heckling from his fellow countryman Wawrinka was the last thing he needed. The Swiss pair had it out after the semi-final encounter at the O2, with a “heated” 10 minute discussion about his wife’s apparent heckling.

Mirka Federer is said to have sparked the row by showering abuse at Wawrinka, when the Swiss number two had a number of match points against the “17 time” grand slam winner. Tensions have cooled since, as the Swiss pair are concentrating on helping their country in the Davis Cup Final against France.

Federer’s reputation has also been put into question because of his withdrawal from the Final. The Swiss hotshot had been playing some of his best tennis during the tournament. His dropout has been seen as a stain to the fans that had paid good money to watch their idol.

However, Roger has only dropped out of three matches in his entire career and in true fashion he came out to address the crowd of his impending withdrawal from the final.
